THE JAGO STONE STORY GATHERS MORE PACE IN SEPTEMBER 2020 - PART ONE - THANK YOU, SUE AND LESLIE

 Here I am, 21,000 words into the next literary venture: 'Dying to Know', and still the Jago Stone stories and pictures arrive through cyberspace. Long may this continue!

On Sunday, 13 September 2020, Sue Stiff from the UK made contact again, saying:

'As promised the two I have. The first is faded as my father-in-law kept it near a window. That is dated 1984 and is in Drayton near Abingdon. The second one is my house in Clifton, Oxfordshire and dated August 1983.'

On Friday, 18 September 2020, Leslie Petty McCarlie from the USA left this Facebook message: 

'I remember as a child chatting with him as he painted our home. He was such a delightful man. He had

his camper there and he brought his folding chair and easel and sat there and painted. He didn't mind at all that all of these children wanted to pepper him with questions while he painted.'

Later, Leslie explained that this was 'a happy recollection' from her family's time in England. Her dad flew for the USAF and was stationed at Upper Heyford. They had lived in Bicester.

Leslie sent me images of four Jago paintings in the family collection:

Leslie added:

'I first saw him sitting with his easel and supplies on the grass just painting away. He was very friendly. I hired him to paint our house which was a two-story brick with a yellow door. I offered to show his art at our house and invited all the neighbors. Of course I bought some and so did grandma and he gave me a couple of small paintings for doing it. My favorite picture is his village scene that is horizontal and I have it in my kitchen above my sink.'
